| Description | : | Henry Speth, 75, well known farmer living four miles west of Eldridge, committed suicide at 9 o'clock this morning by taking strychnine while his wife was carrying a lunch to the farm hands in the field. He had been despondent for several years following a nervous breakdown. Upon returning from the field, Mrs. Speth looked for her husband in the kitchen, where he was sitting when she left the house, but failed to find him.
