Death was caused by kidney and stomach trouble. Mr. Tietjens was sick but two days when the end came. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and seven children, five boys and two girls. As briefly stated, Henry Tietjens of near the Six Miles House, passed away at his home yesterday after a short illness. Saturday he was in town and after completing his trading started homeward. He had said to several that he was not feeling exactly well and on his way home when near the Dierks Cemetery he was suddenly seized with illness and fell from his wagon. Recovering partly he made another attempt to reach home only to fall again, to be assisted later to his home where he passed away as stated. Mr. Tietjens was a prominent and respected resident of Clinton County and was about 47 years of age. He leaves a wife and 5 children who have the earnest sympathy of many friends. The funeral will take place at 1 P. M., Thursday, from the home with burial in the Dierks Cemetery. From: The Advertiser. Lyons, Clinton County, Iowa, Tuesday, October 16, 1906.
