He was born Dec. 18, 1904,son of Tobias and Wilhelmina Brockens Hinrichs, near Center Junction. He received his education in the Jones county schools near Center Junction. He was married to Mary Dirks, May 9, 1931, at Cedar Rapids. Couple have always lived in the Amber community. The last 14 years Mr. Hinrichs was employed as a Security guard at the Iowa State Reformatory. He was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran church, and was baptized and confirmed from St.John Lutheran, Monticello. Survivors include his wife, Mary; four children, Betty Lou, Mrs. Ralph Harms, Anamosa; Raymond Hinrichs, Clinton; Bill Hinrichs, Monticello; and Dennis Hinrichs, Amber. Four brothers, John Hinrichs, Wyoming; Bill Hinrichs,Cedar Rapids; Elmer Hinrichs, Center Junction; Alva Hinrichs, Monticello; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Moore, Onslow; Mrs. Frank Divoka, Oxford Junction; Mrs. Leonard Fluckiger, Monticello; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
