Description	:	Henry Van Veldhuizen, 90, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, October 25, 2002, at Pleasant Park Estates in Oskaloosa. He was born March 6, 1912 at Prairie View, Kansas, the son of Henry and Wilhelmina Veldhuizen Van Veldhuizen. At an early age, he made his profession of faith. As an infant, he moved with his family to a farm in the Tracy area, and then later near Cedar, and helped farm with his parents. Read More	Henry Van Veldhuizen, 90, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, October 25, 2002, at Pleasant Park Estates in Oskaloosa. He was born March 6, 1912 at Prairie View, Kansas, the son of Henry and Wilhelmina Veldhuizen Van Veldhuizen. At an early age, he made his profession of faith. As an infant, he moved with his family to a farm in the Tracy area, and then later near Cedar, and helped farm with his parents. On September 17, 1936, he was married to Cornelia Van Gilst at the home of her parents near Wright. Together, they farmed in Mahaska County until moving into Oskaloosa in 1978. He was a charter member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa, and had served on the church council and various committees within the church which he enjoyed. He was also very supportive of the Oskaloosa Christian School, Pella Christian High School, and the Iowa Lions Eye Bank. Henry is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Cornelia of Oskaloosa; their children: Ronald (& Rosemary) Van Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa, Caryl (& Lee) Spencer of Carlisle; Dale (& Linda) Van Veldhuizen of New Sharon; Erma (& Merle) Nunnikhoven of Pella; Mary (& Gene) Van De Kieft of Oskaloosa; and Marvin (& Judy) Van Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; a brother: Evert Van Veldhuizen of Pella; and 2 sisters: Grace (& Case) Nunnikhoven of Oskaloosa and Minnie Sterk of Grinnell; and a sister in law: Helen Veldhuizen of Oskaloosa. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; a 3 year old son: Larry Dean Van Veldhuizen on July 4, 1948; 3 brothers: Cornie, Frank, and William; and a sister: Margaret Van Hall.
