Description	:	Henry W. Kinder, one of the best known and highly respected residents of Tipton, met instant death Friday morning, when he stepped in front of a north bound passenger train at the Jefferson street crossing. The unfortunate man paused uncertainly in the middle of the track for an instant and was struck by the engine. Kinder, one of the best known and highly respected residents of Tipton, met instant death Friday morning, when he stepped in front of a north bound passenger train at the Jefferson street crossing. The unfortunate man paused uncertainly in the middle of the track for an instant and was struck by the engine. Just a moment before the accident, Mr. Kinder had been engaged in conversation with Glen Carter. Several witnesses saw the accident and tried to warn Mr. Kinder, but he seemed to become confused and hesitated and was struck. Mr. Kinder had not been in good health for some time having suffered several strokes. He was walking with a cane and was making his way slowly across the tracks when hit. Mr. Kinder was born in this county, July 5, 1853 and had done much hard work during his life. His parents, Henry and Sarah Ann (Molden) Kinder, were very early settlers in Tipton county and among its pioneers. December 31, 1880, the deceased was united in marriage to Miss Ada Little, daughter of Thomas J. and Mary (Farley) Little, her death occurring February 15 of this year and since that time he and a daughter, Miss Mabel Kinder, had been residing together on North Conde street. Besides the daughter, he is survived by three sons; William T. Kinder, of Chicago, who with his family have been visiting in Tipton and were intending to return home Saturday; Charles Kinder, residing northeast of Tipton, and Walter Kinder, Tipton coal dealer; Mrs. D.C. Wiggins, residing southwest of Tipton; and also by a number of grandchildren. Mr. Kinder was a long time member of the Kemp Methodist church.
