He died August 20 at the farm home where he had lived continuously for over 61 years. Mr. Weeks was born April 16, 1866, on a farm near Vermillion, the son of Canute and Caroline Weeks. He was educated in the rural schools of Clay county, Augustana Academy and the University of South Dakota. He was married on November 30, 1905 to Anna Blegen of Minneapolis, Minn. and was the father of five children. Always interested in education, he served as clerk of the board of Euclid School No. 61 for fifty consecutive years. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Harold of Centerville, Thomas, Sioux City, Ia; Charles, Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands; and Martin, Knoxville, Tenn.; and one daughter, Mrs. V. W. Kron, Millbrae, Calif. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Anna C. Turner and Mrs. C. J. Gunderson, both of Vermillion, and eight grandchildren. Pall bearers were Milton Payson, Vernon Payson, George Weeks, Glen Steadman, Howard G. Peterson and Martin Weeks, Jr. Interment was in Riverview cemetery under the direction of Wass home for funerals.
