Born in Gaffney, S.C. he was the husband of the late Barbara Jean Teague and son of the late R. V. "Bert" Teague and Annie Mae Northey Teague. He was a Gaffney High School graduate and 4 year starter of the Gaffney High School football team (1946-1949), was inducted into the Gaffney High School Hall of Fame, and attended Clemson University receiving a football scholarship playing under the legendary coach Frank Howard. He was a life-time supporter of Gaffney High School football, basketball and baseball and was a Mason. He was a supporter and contributor to the “Small Fry Gang”, loved to square dance, clog and ballroom dancing with the love of his life Barbara "Bobbie" and was an avid golfer. He loved and enjoyed sitting on his porch swing watching his hummingbirds, turkeys and most of all feeding “his” deer. He retired from Hamrick Mills and was a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church. He was a very caring and compassionate person and loved his children and family. He especially enjoyed the companionship of his brother Richard and enjoyed fishing with him on cool summer evenings. He also enjoyed the Wednesday morning breakfast gang at Chicken n’ More. Surviving are two sons, Michael Teague and wife, Sandra, of Grover, N.C. and Larry Teague and wife, Jayne, of Chesnee, S.C.; two daughters, Kay Teague Barton and husband, David, of Gaffney and Robin Teague Lipscomb of Greenville, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Tracey Lipscomb Amor, Nick Price, Michael R. Teague, Jason Lipscomb, Josh Wyatt, Andrew Barton and Amy Barton Gaines; eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard E. Teague and a grandson, Chad Wyatt. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wofford Caughman and Rev. Mickey Mullinax officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1886, Gaffney, S.C. 29342. The family will be at the residence, 241 Teague Road, Gaffney.
