Colusa, Apr. 20, 1992 Mr. Myers was born to the late Earl and Josephine Myers, pioneer farmers in the Arbuckle area. He attended local schools, graduating from Colusa High in 1919. He was a member of the undefeated champion Redskin Football team in his senior year. He later attended Santa Clara University and worked in the Oakland shipyards before going in the army. He served in the European Theater during World War II. After the war Mr. Myers farmed rice until he retired due to ill health in in1969. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Arbuckle, the Rice Research Board, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served on the Butte Area Council of Boy Scouts, the Arbuckle Elementary School Board of Trustees and was an Arbuckle fireman for 23 years. He served as clerk of the Arbuckle Cemetery District for many years. Mr. Myers is survived by his wife Pat of Arbuckle; two sons, Major Mark Myers who is stationed with the U.S. Army in Markbreit, Germany and Kent Myers of Yuba City; two daughters, Maronee Hollister of San Luis Obispo and Maureen DeBarr of Concord; a sister, Teresa Squires of Oakland; a brother, Joe Myers of Modesto and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Bernard "Honk" Myers. Burial was in the Arbuckle Catholic Cemetery with arrangements in charge of McNary-Moore Funeral Service. – Transcribed by M.
