He was born to Herbert Clark Sr. and Alice Ruth Troutman Clark, on Jan. 16, 1922, on a farm west of Prairie Creek. Read More	Published in The Tribune Star Sun Oct 02, 2011 TERRE HAUTE — Herbert Clark Jr., of Prairie Creek, departed this world Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. He was born to Herbert Clark Sr. and Alice Ruth Troutman Clark, on Jan. 16, 1922, on a farm west of Prairie Creek. After receiving a bachelor's degree in science from Indiana State University, he attended Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis. He then became employed with the Pfizer Company for 31 years. He also worked as a farmer and served in the U.S. Army as a lieutenant for the 77th Division in the Pacific-Asiatic Theatre during World War II. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He remained in the Army Reserves and retired as a lieutenant colonel. He loved to play his organ and had built his own. He loved PBS television and anything military. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Opal Clark; a son, Bruce Clark and wife Barbara; a daughter, Sherri Andrews and husband John; grandchildren, Seth Clark, Greg and Bobbi Burns, Butch and Amy Burns, John Oak Andrews (Michael Ann Glotfelter), Forest Andrews (Julie Bergeron), Cidy and Eric Harris, Troy Clark, Erin (Dave Elliot) Clark, and Eric and Victoria Mildazis; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and two sister-in-laws, Helen Juanita Hayhurst and Helen Cooper. Those who passed before him are his parents; a son, David; and a grandson, James D. Andrews. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, and 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive. The Rev. Terry Fennell will officiate. Burial will be in Lykens Cemetery.
