Description	:	Herbert Thomas Eddy, 88, of rural Zearing, died Thursday, December 17, 1998, at the Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of pneumonia. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the McCallsburg Presbyterian Church in McCallsburg. Burial will be in Johnson Grove Cemetery, rural Zearing. He was born on June 6, 1910 in Zearing to Dwight and Viola (Thomas)Eddy. He graduated from Huxley High School in 1930. He married Pauline McNamar on January 4, 1941, in Nevada. He farmed in the Zearing area, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the McCallsburg Presbyterian Church, Old Foggies of McCallsburg, and served on the board of directors of McCallsburg Farmers Co-op, the Colonial Manor care review committee, Minerva Valley Telephone Company, the ASCS staff at Nevada, and the Story County election board. Survivors include his wife, Pauline of rural Zearing, two daughters, Beverly (Mrs. Ted) Maier of Nevada, and Sharon (Mrs. Dennis) Ulrich of Rippey; three grandchildren; and a brother, Russell (Elzia) of Alexandria, VA.
