Bowers, 71, native of Huntington County and a resident of Dearborn, Mich., died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, in Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn after being in failing health two years and seriously ill the last year. Mr. Bowers, who resided at 26412 Richardson Street, Dearborn, was born August 9, 1890, in Huntington County to O. H. and Ella C. Rhinesmith Bowers. His marriage was to Blanche Robinette who died in 1940. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Kenger, of Dearborn where he had made his home the last two years. Prior to that time he had spent his lifetime on East State Street, this city. Also surviving are five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a brother, Charles B. Bowers of Huntington. Two brothers, Ira O. and Clarence O. Bowers are dead. Mr. Bowers was retired the last year after having been manager of Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at Misawaka. The body will arrive in Huntington Friday morning and will be removed to the Bailey Mortuary where friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Chapel with the Rev. William R. Skeldon officiating. Burial will be in the Broxsen Cemetery, north of Roanoke. ------------------------- Services Held For Herbert F. Bowers Funeral services for Herbert F. Bowers were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Bailey Mortuary with the Rev. William R. Skeldon officiating. Music was by Mrs. Mary Rowe at the organ. Pallbearers were Sam Bowers, Walter Bowers, John Bowers, Robert Bowers, Ancel Bell and Don Draper. Burial was in the Broxsen Cemetery in Whitley County.
