He was born Aug. 9, 1923 in rural Bonaparte to Albert and Viola Schriever Evans. He graduated from Farmington High School in 1942 and from Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL in 1943. He married Leora Klingler, Aug. 12, 1945 in Donnellson. He worked 45 years in the sales department for Moorman Manufacturing Co in Quincy, IL, retiring in 1988. Evans, 85 of Rochester Hills, Michigan, formerly of rural Bonaparte, died Sat., Jan. 31, 2009 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born Aug. 9, 1923 in rural Bonaparte to Albert and Viola Schriever Evans. He graduated from Farmington High School in 1942 and from Gem City Business College in Quincy, IL in 1943. He married Leora Klingler, Aug. 12, 1945 in Donnellson. He worked 45 years in the sales department for Moorman Manufacturing Co in Quincy, IL, retiring in 1988. They lived in Quincy, IL for 48 years before retiring to Rochester, MI. He attended the First Union Congregational Church in Quincy, IL and First Congregational Church in Rochester, MI. Was a member of Toastmaster Organization in Quincy, IL, Boy Scouts of America leader helper in Quincy, IL, and Habitat for Humanity worker in Pontiac, MI. He enjoyed home building projects and growing vegetables and fruit trees. He and his wife traveled in the winters to Florida, the southern states and Arizona Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gregory and his wife Sue of Pleasanton, CA and David and his wife Sheila of Nederland, CO; two grandsons, Merritt Evans and Jim Evans; one granddaughter, Kathy Evans; one sister, Evangeline Longanecker of Farmington; one sister-in-law, Laverne Gardner and her husband, Lester of Iowa City; one brother-in-law Eldred Klingler of Wellman; one niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Francis Longanecker. Services are pending with burial in Green Glade cemetery, Farmington.
