Description	:	Ellendale, N.D.: Herbert "Herb" Kuck, 89 of Ellendale, N.D., was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Oklahoma. He was the son of Benjamin and Katherina (Dalke) Kuck. At an early age, Herb moved to Lehr, N.D., where he also attended school. Later, he farmed near Ellendale and worked for several years at Jensen Manufacturing in Frederick, S.D. In 1975, Herb began working for the city of Ellendale and retired in 1990. Read More	Ellendale, N.D.: Herbert "Herb" Kuck, 89 of Ellendale, N.D., was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Oklahoma. He was the son of Benjamin and Katherina (Dalke) Kuck. At an early age, Herb moved to Lehr, N.D., where he also attended school. Later, he farmed near Ellendale and worked for several years at Jensen Manufacturing in Frederick, S.D. In 1975, Herb began working for the city of Ellendale and retired in 1990. After retirement, he returned to work at the city of Ellendale where he enjoyed his part-time position at the landfill with his dog, Princess, at his side. Herb entered Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale, on Dec. 17, 2010, residing there until his death Jan. 6, 2011. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Ellendale, where he and Marge were also custodians for 14 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, visiting with friends and family and going to the Legion Bar. Herb had two special boys keeping him busy, Kyle and Kole Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Kuck, Ellendale, N.D.; four sons: Gary (Corina) Kuck, Hawley, Minn., Roger (Linda) Kuck, Rapid City, S.D., David (Lory) Bock, Oakes, N.D., Michael (fiancŽe Shirley) Bock, Frederick, S.D.; one daughter, Jolene (Russell) Langness, Fargo, N.D.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Terrell, of Clinton, Okla.; two nieces: Ida Mae Terrell, Clinton, Okla., Norma Gomes, Sacramento, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ida Sheres; and Marge's parents, Art and Loretta Tiede. The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Ellendale, with Pastor Galen Sylvester officiating. Visitation is 2-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Sunday at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale, and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Ellendale City Cemetery
