Survivors include children Mark (Linda) Lunz of St. Marys,Beth (Don) King and Dawn (Dan) Meyer of Botkins,and Glen (Kathy) Lunz of Honea Path, SC. Grandchildren are Kelly (David) Simms, Craig (Lindsey) Lunz, Stacy (Tim) Smith, Adam (Kylie Hamp) King, Angela (Darin) Bronestine, Eric (Jenny) Meyer, Jodi (Tom) Poeppelman, Jill (Adam) Smith, Heath,(Kathleen) Rider, and Andrew (Amy) Lunz.There are 25 great-grandchildren with another due in the spring.Also surviving are sisters -in-law Mildred Lunz, Mary Koch, Lois (Vern) Bischoff, Lillian(Doug) Grodi; brothers-in-law Carl (Peg) Rausch and Leon (Nita) Rausch, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Erika Lunz, his parents and stepfather John Regula, sister Helen (Aldo) Elsass, brothers Leonard Lunzand, Melvin Lunz, sister-in-law Phyllis (Reuben) Lunz, brothers-in-law Lester Koch, and Paul (Dorothy) Rausch. Herb retired from the US post office in Wapakoneta after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and tending his gardens. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, served as treasurer,and participated in various fellowship organizations there. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Sat. Dec. 19, 2020, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, with Pastor Kurt Klingbeil officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Pusheta Rd., Wapakoneta. The family will receive family & friends 9-11 a.m., Sat. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. John's Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Hour. Condolences may be expressed at www.eleyfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. In keeping with current health guidelines, masks and social distancing are required. The funeral service will be live streamed on the funeral home's Facebook page.
