Description	:	Funeral services for Herbert T. Graff, 70, Hosmer, SD are 1:30 PM, Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Hosmer Reformed Church with Pastor James Grossmann officiating. Burial follows at Bethany Cemetery, Hosmer. Organist will be Lucy Vadakin and the congregation will sing "Rock of Ages; Cleft for Me" and "Amazing grace, How sweet the Sound". Ushers will be Leroy Neifer and Ray Jung. Mr. Graff sustained injuries in a motor vehicle accident west of Eureka, SD Monday, November 22, 2010 and died while being transported to a Bismarck, ND hospital. Herbert Theobald Graff, son of Pauline (Wagner) and Frederich Graff, was born in McPherson County near Hosmer on July 28, 1940. He was raised on a farm NE of Hosmer and attended Moscow TWSHP Rural School. Herbert's mother, a teacher, home schooled him during his high school years. Herbert served his country in the United States Air Force, being inducted October 9, 1959. He was honorably discharged October 3, 1963. Herbert married Sheila Mohr at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hosmer on January 26, 1964. They lived briefly east of Eureka and then settled in Hosmer. Herbert retired three years ago after working various jobs in and around Hosmer. He belonged to the Hosmer Reformed Church, the VFW Post No. 5126, Eureka, SD and the Adolph Forkel American Legion Post #189, Hosmer, SD. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and doing word puzzles. He also enjoyed attending auctions and recycling copper and brass. Herbert is survived by Sheila, his wife of 46 years; 1 son Glenn (Shannon) Graff of Rapid City, SD; 2 daughters—Monica (Greg) Fuhrmann of Rapid City and Ranae Graff of Hosmer; 1 brother Raymond Graff of Aberdeen, SD; 4 sisters—Donna (Milbert) Kappes of Long Lake, SD, Mildred Suchomel and Arlys Grismer of Aberdeen, and Emily Heupel of Ashley, ND; 3 grandchildren—Dustin Fuhrmann, Easton Graff, and Courtney Trove all of Rapid City; 1 great granddaughter-Brooke Trove of Rapid City; his mother-in-law, Selma Mohr of Hosmer and his brother-in-law, Duane (Judy) Mohr of Mobridge, SD. He was preceded in death by his father on February 23, 2004, his mother on June 13, 1981, 1 brother (Arvin), and 1 granddaughter. Honorary bearers will be Easton Graff and Brooke Trove. Casketbearers will be Gary Krein of Eureka, Kenny Hieb of Hosmer, Bruce Kappes of Aberdeen, Neal Kappes of Long Lake, and Dustin Fuhrmann and Marty Trove of Rapid City. Lien Funeral Home of Bowdle is in charge of arrangements.
