He passed away on November 14, 2011 at York General Hearthstone, York, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 9 months, 2 days. Herb attended one year at the rural school south of Oak, Nebraska. He graduated from Nelson High School. He was inducted into the United States Army on February 27, 1941 and was honorably discharged on October 15, 1945. Read More	Herbert Valdean Dillman, the son of Ivan and Tina (Sims) Dillman, was born on February 12, 1918 on a farm southeast of Oak, Nebraska. He passed away on November 14, 2011 at York General Hearthstone, York, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 9 months, 2 days. Herb attended one year at the rural school south of Oak, Nebraska. He graduated from Nelson High School. He was inducted into the United States Army on February 27, 1941 and was honorably discharged on October 15, 1945. He was united in marriage to Ardis Cleo Powell on October 6, 1946 at St. Paul Methodist Church, Lincoln, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two children. Herb was a self-employed meat cutter and also worked for Nash Finch Company. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion and Methodist Men. He loved to golf, and really enjoyed gardening and eating all those good vegetables. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Virgil, Claude and Harry. His is survived by his wife Ardis of York, daughter Linda Dillman of York, Nebraska and son Richard Dillman and wife Karen of Grand Island; granddaughters Amanda Daugherty and husband Brent of Columbus, Nebraska and Megan Kortum and husband Mike of Southern Mississippi and one great granddaughter Elisie Daugherty; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
