He was a kind and loving husband and father, and he will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, northeast of Hull, and the remains were laid to rest in the .Church Cemetery nearby. The services were conducted by Rev. A.F. Zenk, with Weir and C!aerbout funeral service in charge. The pallbearers were: Paul Sohl, Lou Van Batavia, Berend Tiedemann, Robert Dickman, Alfred Riebeling and Ernest Sohl. Obituary The following obituary was read at the services by Rev. Zenk: Herman William Breuer, fourth of the eight children born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Breuer, was born May 24, 1909 in the family home in Sheridan Township, Sioux County, Iowa. He was baptized in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on June 27, 1909. His secular training he received in the schools of the community. He also attended the parish school of the church in preparation for confirrnation. After thorough preparation he was enrolled as an active member of St. Paul's by the rite of confirmation on April 25, 1925. He held membership in this church until death. He entered into marriage with Miss Ethel Stoehr, April 4, 1934. The young couple took up residence on one of the Breuer farms to make a home for themselves. One daughter, Marlis Mae, was born tot heir happy union. About three years ago his ailment made its advent, serving first notice on the young man during the winter it recurred each year with more severity and at last gained over the frail body so that Mr. Breuer was [….] found here another of those rare and mysterious cases with which as yet it is not able to cope. Knowing the disease as incurable, everything possible was done for relief. The attack this winter was so severe that the young life came to a close on March 25 at 6:40 A.M. With his passing a loving and devoted husband and father, a kind son and brother and an esteemed friend and neighbor has left the community on the homeward journey. All will miss him but live in the hope of a final reunion. Mr. Breuer leaves to mourn: his devoted wife, Mrs. Ethel Breuer, his daughter Marlis Mae; his mother. Mrs. Magdalena Breuer; three brothers: Henry, Emil and Walter; four sisters: Mrs. Alfred Tiedemann, Mrs. Artie Techen and Miss Martha and Erma; also a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his early going.
