''''''''''''''''''''''''''' The Dodge Criterion (Dodge, Nebr.), September 10, 1914, p. 4, col. 2 Herman Dirkschneider Herman Dirkschneider died at St. Catherine's hospital in Omaha, last Friday morning of Bright's disease, at the age of 42 years. Mr. Dirkschneider was well known in this neighborhood and was greatly respected by all. He was born on the homestead he owned at his death. He ran a threshing machine for eighteen years, but sold out last year on account of poor health. He leaves a wife, two sons and five daughters to mourn for him, besides three brothers and a sister, Henry, August and Mrs. Kassmeier of Oleyen, and Frank of Snyder. The funeral was held Monday at Oleyen, conducted by Rev. Teeves assisted by Rev. Shoff of Snyder, and Rev. Roth of Aloys. The Forresters of Oleyen, Howells and Dodge escorted their departed brother from the home to the church and the grave.
