Description	:	Herman Hoye Hott,Jr., 83, a former resident of Shenandoah, V., died March 14, 2005 at Life Care Center of New Market. He had been of ill health for several years. A son of the late Herman H and Iva Kidwell Hott, he was born in Cumberland,Md., Sep 24, 1921. He spent his early life in Maryland and West Virginia. Read More	Herman Hoye Hott,Jr., 83, a former resident of Shenandoah, V., died March 14, 2005 at Life Care Center of New Market. He had been of ill health for several years. A son of the late Herman H and Iva Kidwell Hott, he was born in Cumberland,Md., Sep 24, 1921. He spent his early life in Maryland and West Virginia. He graduated from Capon Bridge High School, Capon Bridge, W.Va. in 1940. He attended Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, Tenn. and Shepherd College of Shephardstown, W.Va. His formal education went on hold for World War II. He entered the U S Army for nearly three years, serving overseas with distinction in both European/African/Middle Theatre. Mr. Hott was discharged as a Staff Sergeant. Mr. Hott came to Page County in the fall of 1948. He taught two years at Shenandoah High School, then taught and coached sports two years at Stanley High School. During eight years of not teaching, he farmed the family farm and in the mid 1950s, he was a case worker for the Page County Welfare Department (now Social Services) for one and a half years. Returning to the classroom in 1960, he taught another year at Stanley High School. He ended his teaching career with another 20 years at Page County High School. He retired in June 1981 with an accumulated 25 years of service. Besides his wife of 53 years, Rozelle Kite Hott, whom he married June 15, 1951, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, H Hoye and Gayle Hott of Louisa, Va; one daughter, Vonna L Hott of Shenandoah, Va; one granddaughter, Dana Crickenberger of Charlottesville, Va; one grandson, Ryan Hott of Stephens City, Va; one great grandson, Logan Crickenberger of Charlottesville, Va; two sisters, Virginia H Miller and Norma Johnson and her husband, Charles, all of Charles Town, W.Va.;two nieces, Cheryl Hawkins of Charles Town, W.Va. Brenda Bosore of Kearneysville, W.Va. A sister, Wanda J Hott preceded him in death. Burial was in the St. Paul Luthern Church Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Avis O Comer, VFW Post #8613
