Description	:	Herman J. Reitmeyer, widely known Hale farmer and a former Colorado Master Seedsman, died Friday after a brief illness. Mr. Reitmeyer was born July 6, 1890, in Benton County, Mo. Reitmeyer, widely known Hale farmer and a former Colorado Master Seedsman, died Friday after a brief illness. Mr. Reitmeyer was born July 6, 1890, in Benton County, Mo. He was 66 years. 2 months and 15 days old at the time of his death. He came to this area when he was 23 years old. living first near Idalia. later for several years at Armel and for many years at his home north of Hale. In 1915. he married Mary Northdurft and six children were bom to them. One daughter, Emma, died in infancy. The surviving children are Mrs. Anna Phoehl, William, Mrs. lona Browning, Herman Jr. and Mrs. Bemie Andrews. Mr. Reitmeyer specialized in growing seeds and won wide recognition for his advances In this I field. In 1950 he was named State Master Seedsman for his certified seeds. Recently the Rettmeyors built a fine new home on their place north of Hale and last year the couple held an open house to observe their fortieth wedding anniversary and as a housewarming. , The outpouring of congratulations for a great many callers attested to the warm affection in which this friendly pair were held by their neighbors and friends. He was known as a jovial, warm-hearted, companionable man and he held a deservedly high place In his home community. Besides his wife and children, survivors include four grandchildren Mary and Bobby Proehl, Penny Lou Browning and Donnie Andrews. The funeral services were held Sunday at 2 o’clock at the Armel Methodist church followed by burial In the Armel cemetery.
