Read More	Herman, Son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerd Von Hagel, of Grant, While Playing Fell from Tongue of Moving Sheller with Fatal Result ************************** Hermann, the six year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerd Von Hagel received injuries on Thursday afternoon which proved fatal a few hours later. With his sister and brothers he was playing around the home. They saw their father coming and ran to meet him. Mr. Von Hagel was hauling a corn sheller behind his team and wagon. The children asked for a ride, and Hermann, more venturesome than the others, mounted the tongue of the corn sheller. In some way he was jolted off and the hin d wheels of the sheller went over the small of his back. The boy got up after the accident and at first it was thought he was not seriously injured. When the boy fell off the tongue of the sheller, the front wheels missed him and he followed his first instinct and was attempting to craw from under the machine when the hind wheels caught him. He complained of great pain after he walked to the house and was brought to a hospital where three physicians attended to the wounds. It was found that his liver was crushed and ruptured and he was bleeding internally and, had lost a great quantity of blood before arriving at the hospital. A transfusion of blood was made to recuperate the loss and an operation performed in hopes of saving the boy's life but without avail as he passed away at five o'clock on Friday morning. His tragic death is a terrible blow to his parents and relatives. Hermann Janssen Fredrich was born on January 30, 1915. His death is mourned by his parents and his sister Minnie, and two brothers, Johann and Walter, who are desolate at the loss of their little brother and playmate. He was strong, active and merry lad and a great favorite of relative s and many friends of the family. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at Christ church in Grant Township, Rev. J. Meyers, grandfather of the boy, officiating and was largely attended by friends and neighbors who extend sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family in their loss under such tragic circumstances.
