Description	:	LIFELONG AREA RESIDENT PASSES Herman John Andreae, son of Conrad Andreae and Anna Weege, was born February 10, 1888 on a farm northeast of Arlington. He passed away Thursday, February 13, 1969 at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home at the age of 81 years and three days. He was baptized February 26, 1888 at St. Sebald Lutheran Church where he was later confirmed on March 27, 1902 by Pastor G. H. Fuehr. He spent the early days of his life working on the farm and also served his country iin World War I. Read More	LIFELONG AREA RESIDENT PASSES Herman John Andreae, son of Conrad Andreae and Anna Weege, was born February 10, 1888 on a farm northeast of Arlington. He passed away Thursday, February 13, 1969 at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home at the age of 81 years and three days. He was baptized February 26, 1888 at St. Sebald Lutheran Church where he was later confirmed on March 27, 1902 by Pastor G. H. Fuehr. He spent the early days of his life working on the farm and also served his country iin World War I. He was united in marriage to Laura Meisgeier on June 5, 1919 and they made their home on a farm northeast of Arlington, where his son now lives. To this union three daughters and one son were born; Clara, (Mrs. R. C. Anderson) of Ontario, California; Irene, (Mrs LeRoy Walters); Alvin, of Arlington, and Gertrude. An active and faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, Mr. Andreae held numerous church offices; he also had an interest in local community affairs. In November, 1956, Mr. and Mrs. Andreae retired from farming and moved to Arlington where they remained for 12 years. Because of ill health, and need of nursing care, both Mr. and Mrs. Andreae later moved to the Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point, where they remained until his death. One daughter, Gertrude, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura Andreae, one sister, Katie Andreae, his daughters, Mrs. R. C. Anderson of Ontario, California; Mrs. LeRoy Walters, and son, Alvin of Arlington; 9 grandchildren, and many other friends and relatives. Interment will be at the Taylorsville Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Gleim Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at St. John Lutheran Church, Arlington, with Pastor Vernon W. Fasse officiating. Mrs. Richard Ramsey was the organist. Pallbearers were Erwin Phillipp, Ervin Burrack, Ted Nus, Elmer Alshouse, Ted Wegner, and Elmer Wolfgram. Obit published in the Arlington Progressive dated Thursday, February 20, 1969, page 3, columns 1 & 2.
