Herman John Dannert was born March 16, 1878, at Bloomfield, the son of Caroline Juliana and Herman Dannert. He received his education at the Kemma School. On June 8, 1904, he was married to Mary Harrsch. To this union were born two children, William and Lydia. Mr. Dannert lived his entire life in Knox County. He farmed in the Kemma community until 1918 when he moved to a farm 3-1/2 miles north of Creighton. In 1951 he moved to Creighton and made his home with his sister, Elsie Moeller. From October 9, 1955, until the time of his death he lived at Lundberg Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Congregational-Baptist Church for many years. Surviving are his son William of Winnetoon; his daughter Lydia Baker of Sheridan, WY; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five sisters, Lily Stein of Bloomfield, Julia Stein of Somers, MT, Mrs George J Doerr and Elsie Moeller of Creighton and Miss Bertha Luckert of Bloomfield; and three brothers, George Luckert of Center, Oscar Luckert of Bloomfield and Loal Luckert of Creighton. His parents and seven brothers preceded him in death."
