Description	:	Friends of Herman Fiebig, a well-known resident of Sherman County for the past fifty-six years, were grieved and saddened Tuesday to learn that he had Quietly and peacefully departed this life that morning a 9:20 o'clock. He had been in very poor health for the past two years and bed fast for the past three or four months. Read More	Friends of Herman Fiebig, a well-known resident of Sherman County for the past fifty-six years, were grieved and saddened Tuesday to learn that he had Quietly and peacefully departed this life that morning a 9:20 o'clock. He had been in very poor health for the past two years and bed fast for the past three or four months. During the past seven years he has been making his home with his youngest son, Bert Fiebig, and it was at his home that he breathed his last. Herman Paul Fiebig was born in Jauer, Germany, on the twenty-second day of February, 1841 and passed from his life Nov. 5, 1929, at the advanced age of 88 years, 8 months and 13 days. When a young man, eighteen years of age, he came to America and located in Indiana. When the Civil War broke out he enlisted for three years and when the time was up, he re-enlisted and remained in the ranks until the close of the war. He was a Corporal at the time of his honorable discharge. After the war, he returned to Indiana and devoted his time to farming, and also raising tobacco and making cigars. He was united in marriage to Miss Pauline Kuhntz in a small town near Evansville, Indiana, in 1865. Eight years later, 1873, he and his family moved to Nebraska and homesteaded on a farm in the Oak Creek community. In 1904, twenty-five years ago, he moved to Loup City, where he lived until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his wife sixteen years ago. The surviving relatives are a daughter, Mr. Geo. Deininger of St. Paul, and three sons, Albert Fiebig, Loup City; Gus Fiebig, Pendleton, Oregon; Bert P. Fiebig, Loup City; seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. Ten children preceded their father in death, eight of whom died in infancy; one daughter when a small child and Mrs. John George about eight years ago. The deceased was a member of the G.A.R. organization until it disbanded a number of years ago. Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at two-o'clock from the St. Paul's Evangelical church, Rev. John G. Ruhl having charge of the services. Interment will be in the Evergreen cemetery.
