Read More	Obituary in THE TIMES AND DEMOCRAT, Orangeburg, SC, 7 Apr 2007: Columbia - Herman Sylvester "Doodlie" Felkel Jr., 85, of Columbia, and formerly of Elloree, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elloree, with the Rev. Phillip Coggins officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Mr. Felkel was born in Elloree, the son of the late H.S. Felkel Sr. and Ruby Bookhart Felkel. He was a sergeant in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, serving in the European, North African and Italian campaigns. He was employed by Shuler Oil Company and by G & M Oil Company in Elloree. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elloree, where he served as a Sunday School officer, and chair and secretary of church council. He was a Master Mason of Charity Lodge #62 AFM at Elloree for 61 years. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Carol Fogle Felkel, he is survived by his son, Derrill S. Felkel of Columbia and his sister, Edith Fairey Judy of Orangeburg. Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7, prior to the service at the Trinity Lutheran Church Parish Building. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 487, Elloree, SC 29047 or the Elloree Heritage Museum, PO Box 54, Elloree, SC 29047. Fogle-Hungerpiller Funeral Home of Elloree is in charge of arrangements.
