Description	:	Theodore Wortman, whose death occurred on Wednesday, November 3. The facts thereof being chronicled in the last week's issue, was born in West Phalia, Germany, December 25, 1829. He came to America when but eleven years of age and settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. In the spring of 1866 he came to Cuming county and took a homestead in lower Sherman township which is still in possession of the family, together with many other acres, the fruits of frugality and unremitting toil. The facts thereof being chronicled in the last week's issue, was born in West Phalia, Germany, December 25, 1829. He came to America when but eleven years of age and settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. In the spring of 1866 he came to Cuming county and took a homestead in lower Sherman township which is still in possession of the family, together with many other acres, the fruits of frugality and unremitting toil. He is survived by his fourth wife and by six children, the fruits of his third marriage, as follows: Mrs. Minolph Tingelhoff; Lawrence; Michael; Mrs. J. H. Crawford and John of Saunders county and Alois. The deceased was a man of notable character and ability. He possessed the true pioneer spirit and instinct and was never dismayed the hardships and vicissitudes of such times. He was of a mechanical bent of mind and would have achieved distinction had he engaged in such lines. Withal, he was a genial gentleman, kind and courteous, upright and manly, true and honorable in all of his relations and his death had awakened general regret.
