Verlyn Boone officiating.Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Hull,Iowa.Hermina was born April 26,1924 in Orange City,Iowa,the daughter of Henry & Jenny(Roelofs)Van Aartsen.In 1930 the family moved to Matlock,Iowa,in 1936 to Hull,Iowa,in 1942 they moved to Rock Rapids,Iowa.On June 9,1944 in Rock Rapids she married John H. Boote of Hull.They reside in Rock Rapids until March 1945,when they began farming around the Hull area.In 1981 they moved to their farm place on the north edge of Hull.She enjoyed being a farmer's wife.John died Jan. 22,2005 in Sioux Center,after 60 years of marriage.The couple encouraged their nine children to value faith in God,music,hard work,family time and education.She like crafts,vegetable and flower gardening and cooking for her family.She had a green thumb with house plants and was always trying to propagate them.Some of her favorite pastimes were playing cards with her family,reading books and magazines,listening to Christian music programs and watching ice skating on TV.She also liked to travel to visit her children and to take tours.She was a member of the Frist Reformed Church where she was involved with Reformed Church Women.She also participated in Farm Bureau Women.She volunteered at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull,playing cards or dominoes and singing Dutch psalms with the residents,also delivered Meals on Wheels.Her family circle holds nine children and spouses,Kenneth & Linda Boote of Gainsville,Fla.,Mark & Linda Boote of Edgewood,Wash.,David & Linda Boote of Lahain,Hawaii,Jan & Cal Klarenbeek of Hull,Glen Boote and his fiancee,Annette of College Station,TexasmArvin & Lauri Boote of Hull,Wanda Boote and Ross Johnson of St. Petersburg,Fla.,Lorna Heemstra od Waukee,Ia.,and Marlys Boote and her friend Margie Newman of Iowa City,Ia.;22 grandchildren;five step grandchildren;many great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren;four brothers,Bernard & wife Tilie Van Aartsen,John & Ruth Van Aartsen,all of Rock Rapids,Ia.,Henry & Marlys Van Aartsen of Orange City,Gerrit & Mary Ann Aartsen of Luverne,Minn;sister and husband,Jane & Marv Albers of Rock Rapids;three brothers-in-laws,Herman & Grace Boote of Hull,Clarence & Carol Boote of Orange City,Edwin & Harriet Boote of Sioux Center;three sister-in-law,Christina Rens,Elsie Koele and Marilyn Boote,all of Hull;numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and beloved husband,she was also preceded in death by her four brothers-in-law,Donald Boote,William Rens,John Koele and Leonard Lens.
