Mrs. Pokorny whose maiden name was Hermina Podhajsky, was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Podhajsky, west of Clutier, and was a life¬ long resident of this community. She was married at the St. Vaclav church in September 1925 to Joseph Pokorny and the couple began housekeeping on a farm north of town. She was a member of the Women’s Catholic Order of Foresters and of the Rosary society and was popular with and respected by all those who knew her. The three children left motherless by her death are Ernest, 5 years old; Leona 2; and Lester, born January 4 of this year. The decedent's husband also survives together with her parents, two brothers and a sister. The latter are Joe and Albert Podhajsky, at home, and Albina, wife of Will Herink of Carroll township.
