Description	:	MAYODAN- Mrs. Hessie Mae Biggs Hodge, 92, of 303 N. 9th Ave., departed this life in the presence of the Lord forever on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at Britthaven of Madison. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at First Baptist Church of Mayodan, where she was a member with the Rev. Randy Jessup and the Rev. Jim Crews officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Hodge was born on January 24, 1914, in Stokes County, the daughter of the late Isaac Biggs and the late Clemmie Nelson Biggs. Read More	MAYODAN- Mrs. Hessie Mae Biggs Hodge, 92, of 303 N. 9th Ave., departed this life in the presence of the Lord forever on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006, at Britthaven of Madison. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at First Baptist Church of Mayodan, where she was a member with the Rev. Randy Jessup and the Rev. Jim Crews officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Hodge was born on January 24, 1914, in Stokes County, the daughter of the late Isaac Biggs and the late Clemmie Nelson Biggs. She had retired from Washington Mills with 55 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, Otis E. Hodge, a brother, Kelsie Biggs and a grandson, Tobie Ray Woods. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carol Hodge Duggins and husband Paul of Mayodan; son James "Bud" Hodge and wife Doreen of Greensboro; sisters, Louise Vaden of Mayodan and Ann Davis of Martinsville; brothers, Ray Shaffer of Summerfield, Fla., and Ralph Biggs of Martinsville; granddaughters, Salena Blau of Atlanta, Ga., Lisa Woods of Eden and Carla Stinson of Columbia, S.C.; nine great- grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; special friends, Adilee Matherly and Mildred Baity; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who enjoyed life and spending time with family and friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and all other times at the home of Carol Duggins, 303 N. 9th Ave., Mayodan.
