She had gone there last Friday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Jessie Walburn. She suffered a stroke of paralysis Tuesday, was removed to Grace hospital where she died. Mrs. Watson was a pioneer resident of Brown county, settling on a farm near Reserve over 40 years ago where she lived with her husband, the late Marion Watson, until 2 years ago when she came to Hiawatha, lived at 709 Shawnee street. Mr. Watson died Feb. 19, 1919. Mrs. Watson is survived by a son, Dowty, who made his home with her, 3 daughters, Mrs. E. B. Walburn, Mrs. Fannie Dober, Kansas City, Kans., Mrs. Mary Syster, Peabody. She had been in poor health all spring. A short funeral service was held in Kansas City Thursday morning. The body was expected to arrive tonight on the flyer, taken to her home where the funeral will be held Saturday. Watson was the daughter of Levi and Sarah Beaver, was born at Fairview, McDonough county, Illinois, in 1845, died Sept. 15, 1920, at age of 75 years, 6 months, 7 days. Her death was caused by paralytic stroke which she had while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Jessie M. Walburn, of Kansas City, Kans. In 1867 she was married to Marion S. Watson at Perry, Ill. To this union there was born 8 children, 4 are living; Mrs. Mary M. Syster, of Peabody, Mrs. Fannie Dover, of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Jessie M. Walburn, Kansas City, Kans., Doty Watson, of Hiawatha. The deceased children are Nellie I. Willard, Frank I., and Daniel A. Watson and little Ella Grace. The deceased is survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Lydia Dowey, of Falls City, Mrs. Jane Allison, of Hot Springs, S. Dak., 2 brothers, Frank and Sam Beaver, of Saint Cloud, Fla. In 1872 Mr. and Mrs. Watson left Illinois and located in Richardson county, Nebraska, where they engaged in farming. In 1878 they moved to Kansas, locating in Brown county, near Reserve. They lived on their farm until Oct. 11, 1918, when their beautiful new home was burned to the ground. Both Mr. and Mrs. Watson were sick and helpless at the time. Mr. Watson never recovered from his illness, dying the following February in Hiawatha where the family had moved. Mrs. Watson had been a member of the church for 55 years. She was a charter member of the Christian church at Reserve. She had a large circle of friends. She was always cheerful and optimistic. A brief service was held at the home Saturday at 12:45. The funeral services were held in the Christian church at Reserve, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. T. V. Hubbell, assisted by Rev. L. L. Hassenpflug and Rev. J. T. Sapp. John W. Clark, of Reserve, who had known the Watsons for many years, paid a fitting tribute of respect to Mrs. Watson. Special music was furnished by a quartet composed of To__ Wise, Mrs. A. D. Connelly and Mr. and Mrs. Peterson. Burial was made in the Cornelison cemetery, where the body was laid to rest beside the remains of the deceased husband, Marion S.
