Boyes Passed Away Wednesday The community was shocked to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Hester Boyes, wife of Thomas Boyes, well-known Coal City businessman and former goalie of the Drumheller Miners Hockey team and ardent supporter of all branches of hockey in this district. The late Mrs. Boyes had not been feeling well for some time, but she took desperately ill last Wednesday night and was rushed to the hospital, where she passed away shortly after entering hospital. The deceased lady, who was 40 years of age, was born in Lakeland, Manitoba, coming to Drumheller as a young girl, and being married here in 1921. She took an active interest in different community affairs, especially in the work of the Pythian Sisters, of which order she was a member of many years standing. She was also keenly interested in the various forms of athletic sports, in which her husband Tommy Boyes took part. Beside her husband, she leaves a family of seven children: three sons, Elgin, Donald and Thomas; and four daughters, Doreen, Cleona, Kathleen and Beverly; also two sisters, Mrs. Edward Hey of Drumheller, and Mrs. J. Rutley of Abbotsford, B.C, and one brother, Robert Armstrong, of Winnipeg. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.
