It is possible that her name was actually Mehetible, after her grandmother. Peter and Hetta had at least four children: Henry, Martin, Jesse, and Darius. The Evening Democrat, Fort Madison, Iowa, Wednesday, March 24, 1897, page 4 Column 5 Charleston Clippings March 23--Died, at the home of her daughter Mrs. John Latta at Moulton, Iowa, on Thursday, March 18, at 3:30 o'clock, Mrs. Hetta Ball, wife of the late Aaron Ball, an old pioneer, of Lee county. She was born near Dayton, Ohio, August 5, 1815, making her 81 years and 5 months of age at the time of her death. With her parents she came to Iowa in 1840 and permanently settled in Charleston township in 1846, residing here until last May when she moved with her daughter to Moulton, Iowa. Her illness was of short durantion and the cause of her death was her advanced age. She was a kind woman, a loving mother, patient and resigned in her affliction and faced the inevitable with resignation. She leaves to mourn their loss two daughters and six sons and a host of friends who knew and respected her as a near friend. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church Saturday at 11:00, Rev. S. Pickard officiating, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Charleston cemetery beside that of her late husband, who had preceded her to that bourne from which no traveler returneth.
