She was born July 4, 1925 in Douds, IA to Phillip and Nellie B. Blackburn Strong. She had worked as a teacher's aide at Head Start and had also been a home health aide. Hila was an avid bingo player and enjoyed traveling around the region to play. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be 3 pm Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Gentz officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 am Friday with the family present from 6-8 pm Friday. Memorials may be made to the family.
