Description	:	Hilda Anna Nye, 95, of Napoleon, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Orchards of Northcrest Nursing Home. She was born September 2, 1920, to Edward and Henrietta (Salow) Sonnenberg. Hilda married Gale Nye on September 9, 1938, and he preceded her in death in 2009. She worked at Campbell Soup for more than 25 years, retiring in 1983. Hilda was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon. She and Gale loved to square dance with the Turkeyfoot Trotters, and she also enjoyed her membership in the Campbell's Retirees Group. She loved to do needlework, cross stitch, and making... Read More	Hilda Anna Nye, 95, of Napoleon, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Orchards of Northcrest Nursing Home. She was born September 2, 1920, to Edward and Henrietta (Salow) Sonnenberg. Hilda married Gale Nye on September 9, 1938, and he preceded her in death in 2009. She worked at Campbell Soup for more than 25 years, retiring in 1983. Hilda was a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon. She and Gale loved to square dance with the Turkeyfoot Trotters, and she also enjoyed her membership in the Campbell's Retirees Group. She loved to do needlework, cross stitch, and making many plastic canvas gifts for family and friends. Her grandchildren will long remember baking cookies with her. One of her favorite activities was dining out, as well as doing her crossword puzzles. Hilda is survived by her children, Eldon (Barb) Nye, Phyllis (Ed Kenning) Bischoff and Eugene "Butch" (Linda) Nye; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Gale Nye; daughter, Marjorie Rathburn Lane; great-grandson, Jordan James; brothers, Edwin, Carl and Alvin Sonnenberg; and sisters, Alvina Miller, Henrietta Ludeman and Emelia Hable. Friends are invited to visit on Sunday, November 8, 2015, from 2-8 p.m. at Snyder-Wesche-Hoening Funeral Home in Napoleon. Visitation will continue at 10 a.m. Monday, November 9 at Emanuel Lutheran Church until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Pastor James Castello officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance.
