Read More	A Young Wife Taken It was indeed a sad shock to this community when the word came by wire Sunday afternoon to local relatives, that Mrs. Lewis Kiner, who recently went from Wall Lake, to the home of her parents at Sterling, Colo. Was very low and could live but a short time. Monday afternoon another message came conveying the sad news that she had passed to the great beyond. Her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Koehler, her aunt, Miss Katherine Dinges, her uncle P. H. Dinges, and her cousin Edward Dinges of Odebolt, and her sister, Mrs. A. T. Blackman of Ida Grove departed Monday evening for Sterling to attend the funeral. It was known that Mrs. Kiner was in failing health, and that her husband had taken her to Colorado, and was moving there, in the hopes that she would regain her strength and recover, but instead the change in climate seemed to hasten the end, and but little more than three weeks after she reached the new home, death called her from her loved ones. Letters had been received by relatives written a few days before, saying that she was some better, which made the sad news more of a shock, no one here knowing that her condition was so serious. Mr. Kiner came back to Wall Lake to pack his household goods, and only reached her bedside again the night before she passed away. Hilda Katherine Koehler was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Koehler. She was born in Odebolt, and had but recently passed her twenty-third year. She resided here all of her life until May 19 of this year, when she was united in marriage with Lewis E. Kiner of Wall Lake, and their home has been at that place since that time, until about three weeks ago. She was educated in the Odebolt schools and in St. Martin’s school, and was a graduate in music. She was a happy warm hearted winsome girl. Being the eldest girl in the home, she was the helper there, looking after the younger ones in the mother’s absence, and taking her place as far as possible, and always cheerful and helpful. She played the piano in the Princess theatre for a considerable time, giving enjoyment to many. Her demise in the early days of her wifehood, and in her early years, when life promised her so much is surely a sorrow and grief, not only to her husband and family, but to her many Odebolt friends. She leaves besides her husband and parents four brothers, Raymond, Harold, Paul and Lawrence and three sisters, Mrs. A. T. Blackman of Ida Grove and Lula and Eva.
