Read More	Hawk Eye, The (Burlington, IA) - Tuesday, February 17, 2004 Author: The Hawk Eye Born Dec. 31, 1911, in Valley, Neb., she was the daughter of William and Jennie Hartford Powers. On June 7, 1933, she married Orville Eugene "Curly" Wells . He died Oct. 1, 1960. On July 14, 1964, she married Lloyd Frank Alliman in Denver. He died March 3, 2002. Mrs. Alliman worked as a housekeeper in Omaha, Neb., before her first marriage. She then moved with her husband to Wann, Neb. In 1936, she and her husband moved to Mount Pleasant to take over the operation of her uncle's farm. She worked as a cook at Henry County Health Center, then received her CNA qualification and later became a ward clerk. She retired from the hospital in 1981. She attended school in Valley. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant. She was a past nobel grand of the former Rebekkah Lodge No. 409 of Mount Pleasant and was a 50-year member and one of the charter members of the Women of the Moose of Mount Pleasant. She belonged to the Happy Times Club, South Center Club and Republican Women's Auxiliary. She was a past member of the Business and Professional Women of Mount Pleasant. Survivors include one son; one stepdaughter; one stepson; two grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters, one half sister and one half brother. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Alliman will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Jerry L. Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
