Description	:	Hilda Penn Hines, 97, a resident of Friends Home West, died on Thursday, February 21, 2013. Burial will take place on Monday, February 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Madison. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 25th at 2:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Greensboro. The family will greet friends in the Virginia Gilmer Room immediately following the service. Hilda was born on January 4, 1916 in Madison, N.C. and was the daughter of Howard Leath Penn and Hilda Wall Penn. She graduated from Madison High School and attended Salem College. She moved to Greensboro in 1935 and the following year married Walter Andrew (Bynum) Hines, Jr. who died in 1977. Hilda was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church where she was married, taught Sunday School, and later served as Executive Secretary for Dr. John Redhead and Dr. Joe Mullin. She was a past member of the Pursers Book Club and a past member of the Guilford Battle Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Hilda was a gracious and caring Southern lady who was beloved by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by both her family and friends. The family sincerely appreciates the loving care given to her by the staff of Friends Home West. They also deeply appreciate the many wonderful friends who visited and kept in touch with her. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Cam Cridlebaugh, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 617 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401, or a charity of one's choice.
