Description	:	Hildegard Pohl, 80, of Kearney died Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Hildegard was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Stockholm to Andrew and Nettie (Epp) Benke. On Aug. 24, 1947, she married Ivan Pohl in Bradshaw. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Greene and her husband, Ed, of Des Moines, Iowa, Karen Schroeder and her husband, Tim, of Alda and Kristi Eichelberger of Kearney; son, Ronald Pohl of Shelton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl Benke and his wife, AnnaMae, of Rupert, Idaho, and Andrew Benke and his wife, Marg, of Loveland, Colo.; and... Survivors include her daughters, Linda Greene and her husband, Ed, of Des Moines, Iowa, Karen Schroeder and her husband, Tim, of Alda and Kristi Eichelberger of Kearney; son, Ronald Pohl of Shelton; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl Benke and his wife, AnnaMae, of Rupert, Idaho, and Andrew Benke and his wife, Marg, of Loveland, Colo.; and sisters, Francis Cotner of Greeley, Colo., and Susan Hanson and her husband, Herb, of Stromsburg. She was one of seven children. She grew up in Bradshaw and graduated from Bradshaw High School. She and Ivan remained until 1963 in Bradshaw where she was a homemaker. They then moved to Shelton where they raised their four children. They moved to Lexington in 1978. She worked at District 15 school of Lexington and at Lexington Public Schools. They then moved to Kearney to retire. She worked at Wendy's of Kearney for eight years. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Kearney. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid sports fan and loved Husker football and Storm hockey. She also made sure to be present for all of her family's activities, be it a football game or a dance recital. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
