Funeral service was held Thurs., Oct. 29, at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel, 11924 E. 47th St., KCMO 64133. Burial was Fri. Oct. 30, in Greenwood Cemetery, Council Grove, Kan. Robbie was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Oak Grove, La., to Romey and Myrtle (Meeks) Roberson. He attended grade school and graduated from 8th grade in Eudora, Ark. Burial was Fri. Oct. 30, in Greenwood Cemetery, Council Grove, Kan. Robbie was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Oak Grove, La., to Romey and Myrtle (Meeks) Roberson. He attended grade school and graduated from 8th grade in Eudora, Ark. When he was 18 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps on Nov. 7, 1941, in Little Rock, Ark. During his time with the CCC, he served in Sturgis, SD, from Nov. 11, 1941 to Jan. 15, 1942, then from Jan. 15, 1942, to Feb. 2, 1942, he served in Hill City, SD. He was Honorably Discharged Feb. 2, 1942. Robbie then enlisted with the Army Air Corps on Oct. 26, 1942, in Greenville, Miss. He served a total of three years, three months and 18 days and of that time he spent eight months and seven days overseas in Guam. Robbie was honorably discharged from the 274th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Corporal on Feb. 13, 1946. After his military career he married Margaret Hebrank on Feb. 9, 1947, and went on to complete the HVAC program from Universal Plumbing School in 1950. Robbie retired in July of 1975 from St. Luke's Hospital. Robbie is survived by his wife of 68 years, Margaret.
