Fellows in Ottumwa, and she passed away at the Ottumwa Hospital at 9:20 a.m. on Monday, April 23. Hildred was born in Bladensburg, Iowa, and she was a resident of Wapello County her entire life. She taught in rural schools in Wapello County. Hildred married Howard A. Giltner on October 19, 1929, and they farmed north of Agency until 1957 when they moved to Ottumwa. She was a member of Agency United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Loyal Circle of King's Daughters, and she also taught Sunday School for several years. At the time of her death, Hildred was survived by two sons, George and Jo, both of Ottumwa Route 1; two grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; and one sister, Ethel Shaw of Ottumwa. The funeral was at 1:30 Thursday at the Agency United Methodist Church, the Rev. Dale Gray officiating.
