Description	:	Hilke was born to Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Huisinga. Hilke married Jasper Westerman on Dec. 19, 1892. 13 children were born to this union; Nina, George, Ben, Joe A., Otto M., Jasper Jr., Evert, Anthony Luther, Tena, Sophia, Helen, Waneta and Flora. Hilke attained the age of 60 years and 6 months. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Westerman were familiar personalities in the pioneer settlement of this section. He married Miss Hilke Huisinga, December 19, 1892 and eight years later, in 1900, moved to Lennox where they lived until their deaths. Mr. Westerman was born in Germany June 12, 1858. He donated to the city land for their present park. Mrs. Westerman was born at Pogum, Germany, December 20, 1872. When she was 10 years old her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Huisinga, came to this community, directly from their native land. Prior to her marriage Mrs. Westerman taught school many years. She spent her declining years an invalid. Mr. Westerman died February 15, 1921 and she passed away June 20, 1933. The following children were born to this union: Nina (who died in infancy), George, Ben, Joe A., Otto M., Jasper, Evert, Tony L., Tena, Sophia, Helen, Waneta and Flora.
