French, who was born in Wingaville, Wic., May 30, 1858 and died in Clarksville, Iowa, August 10, 1920. At the age of twelve years, he emigrated with his parents to a place near Clarksville, Iowa, and was married to Miss Jessie O. Shadbolt on April 27, 1881. Read More	From Grandma Coon's Scrapbook HIRAM FRENCH Butler county has again lost one of it's most valuable and sturdy citizens by the death of Hiram E. French, who was born in Wingaville, Wic., May 30, 1858 and died in Clarksville, Iowa, August 10, 1920. At the age of twelve years, he emigrated with his parents to a place near Clarksville, Iowa, and was married to Miss Jessie O. Shadbolt on April 27, 1881. To this union three children were born – Clem E, Earl H. and Mrs. Lorane Clingman. They engaged in farming on the Shadbolt farm near Clarksville. Five years ago they took up their in this city. Mr. French was always ready to give a helping hand. His jovial disposition secured for him a host of friends who were greatly shocked by his sudden passing. In his early life, he united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Clarksville where he remained a conscientious member. In his home relations, he provided to their comfort and happiness, hence a great loss will be keenly felt by those left behind. The surviving members of the family are his wife, Mrs. Jessie O. French, one daughter, Mrs. Lorane Clingman, and one grandchild, Howard B. Clingman, all of Clarksville. Rev. T. H. Sheckler was called from Geneseo to take charge of the last services which were held in the Methodist church last Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The songs rendered by Mrs. T.H. Sheckler and Mrs. Nellie Scripture contributed much of comfort and impressiveness in the occasion. Burial was made in Lynwood cemetery.
