FOUST LAID TO REST Hiram Theodore Foust was born in Hamilton county, Indiana February 10, 1854, when but 15 years of age he came to Polk County, Iowa making the trip in a covered wagon and since then he has made his home at different places in this county. On August 12, 1896, he was united in wedlock to Anna T. Tollenaar and to this union six children were born, Sarah Adeline, Helen Maude, Florence Elvie, Ralph Theodore, Katherine May, Fred M. who preceded his father in death 8 years ago this month. FOUST LAID TO REST Hiram Theodore Foust was born in Hamilton county, Indiana February 10, 1854, when but 15 years of age he came to Polk County, Iowa making the trip in a covered wagon and since then he has made his home at different places in this county. On August 12, 1896, he was united in wedlock to Anna T. Tollenaar and to this union six children were born, Sarah Adeline, Helen Maude, Florence Elvie, Ralph Theodore, Katherine May, Fred M. who preceded his father in death 8 years ago this month. Mr. Foust was taken sick January 26, 1925 and while all was done for him that loving hands could do he was unable to overcome his affliction and after suffering intense pain for over a year he passed away May 24, 1926 at his home at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 14 days. He is survived by his wife, five daughters; Helen Maude of Monroe, Iowa, Florence Elvie of Des Moines, Iowa, Sarah Adeline and Katherine May of Altoona and one son Ralph Theodore of Al- toona, two sisters Mary J. Stouten of Des Moines, Iowa, Cora E. Mingo of Chicago and one brother H. B. Foust of Bowsher Station, also a host of friends. He united with the M. E. Church at Rising Sun at the age of 20 years. And was a charter member of I.O.O. F. lodge No 499 of Altoona, which was later combined with the lodge at Bondurant. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Church of Christ at 1:30, conducted by the pastor Rev. R. R. Marken. Following the service at the church I.O.O.F. lodge No 243 of Bondurant took charge and escorted the body to the Altoona cemetery where it was laid to rest under the ritualistic service of that order. CARD OF THANKS We desire to extend our heartfelt thanks to our neighbors and many friends for the invaluable services rendered and courtesies extended dur- ing the illness and death of our dear husband and father.--Mrs. H.T. Foust and family.
