Description	:	Hjalmer Lykke passed away Sunday morning, July 1, 1951 at the home of his brother, John, at Exira, where he had been cared for since his dismissal form the Carroll hospital following surgery several weeks ago. He was born in Sharon township, Audubon county, Iowa, January 10, 1892, son of Christena and Peter Lykke. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and was a member of the Exira Lutheran church. He was born in Sharon township, Audubon county, Iowa, January 10, 1892, son of Christena and Peter Lykke. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and was a member of the Exira Lutheran church. On February 24, 1916 he was united in marriage to Dagman Larsen, she preceded him in death January 10, 1931. January 17, 1937 he married Ida Mae Summers. During his married life he farmed in Shelby and Audubon counties. At the time of his death he was farming 7 miles northeast of Exira. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs Lydia Andersen of Exira and Patricia at home; two sons, Gordon of Exira and Harold of Atlantic; one step-son, Lloyd Summers of Washington, D.C.; 6 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs John E. Jensen, of Kimballton and five brothers, John of Exira, Simon and Sigurd of Kimballton, Walter of Shelby and Carl of Irwin. His parents and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Thursday, July 5 at the Exira Lutheran church. Pastor Stanley Larsen officiated, assisted by Rev. V.S. Jensen of Des Moines. Interment was in the Exira cemetery.
