Apparently he had been shoveling snow from the walk at his home, had gone into the basement to remove his coat and dropped over dead. Homer had lived in Coon Rapids for about 33 years, was a mechanic by trade, worked for the Cadden & Bell garage for many years. For several years past he had been employed as a school bus driver. Funeral services were held at the First Christian church Monday afternoon in charge of the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur and the Rev. Morris L. Bailey. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cretsinger sang "No Night There" and "Beautiful Garden of Prayer." They were accompanied by Mrs. Don Ridgeway. Casketbearers were Lowell Reever, Arnold Buckley, Frank Beach, the Rev. Manley Swarthout, Harold' Long and Noble Long. Burial was in the Coon Rapids cemetery . Obituary Homer M. Chase was born March 21, 1901 at Washta, Iowa, the son of George M. and Addie Miller Chase. He married Bonnie Umbaugh at Guthrie Center Sept. 14, 1929. Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, George Chase, of Marysville, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Wilson of Pilot Mound. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He was a member of the First Christian church at Coon Rapids. Out of town, friends and relatives attending the services were John A.
