Read More	BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION FOR HOMER SIMS Married Nella Zegers on January 11, 1899 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clarks, Nebr. _____________________ OBITUARY Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), February 10, 1938, p. 1, col. 1 DEATH OF HOMER SIMS HEART ATTACK WAS FATAL The Funeral Services Were Held Monday Morning Homer Sims, well-known long-time resident of Butler county passed away at his home, seven miles north of David City, at 8 o'clock Saturday morning, Feb. 5, from a sudden heart attack. He was in his 70th year. Born at Akron, Erie county, New York, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Sims, Sr., Homer Sims came to Nebraska in his youth, and was married at Clarks January 11, 1899 to Nella Zegers. To them were born nine children, four sons and five daughters. One son, Leonard, died May 22, 1912. The surviving children are Mrs. P. J. Schmit, Mrs. Emil Zweiner and Lawrence and Joseph Sims of Bellwood, Bernard Sims of Longmont, Colo., Mrs. N. L. Baer of David City, Mrs. Henry Augustin of Shelby and Mrs. Elmer Behrens of Columbus. All were present at the funeral of their father. Mrs. Sims died January 28, 1932. Mr. Sims also leaves 13 grandchildren, one brother, William Sims of Clarks, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Williams of Longmont, Colo., and Mrs. William Steffey of Bassett. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church, Luxemburg, at 9:30 a.m. Monday, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Father Ekeler. The pallbearers were J. J. Reisdorff, Henry Birkel, Nick Morbach, Nick Puetz, William Homan and Emil DeBaets. Burial was in St. Francis Catholic cemetery, Center township, with services at the grave in charge of Rev. Father Hennessey, of the Center Catholic church. Relatives in attendance at the funeral from elsewhere included Bernard Sims and Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Williams of Longmont, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Townsend and daughter of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. William Sims, Mrs. Rose Sims and children and Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Archie Waldon and Paul Townsend of Clarks, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Emergarden, Mrs. Alice Waldon, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Randall and Mr. and Mrs. Elmyn Reeves of Central City, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Grubb of Grand Island, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Michalak of Ord, Mrs. William Steffey and son, Frank, of Bassett, Mervin Steffey of Stanton, Mr. and Mrs. William Brockman of Pilger, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jacobs and son, Phillip, of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. Cliffored Gorel and John Gorel and children of Archer and Mrs. Joseph Zweiner of Columbus. Mr. Sims was a friendly man, with a kindly greeting for all whom he met, and had made a host of warm friends during his lifetime. ____ Card of Thanks - We wish to express our sincere thanks to all those who were so kind and helpful at the time of death of our dear father and brother.
