Description	:	Homer W. Synder 77 of Muscatine, passed away on Friday November 22, 2013 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 10;30a.m. Tuesday November 26, 2013 at the Ralph J.Wittich Riley Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. on Monday November 25, 2013 at the funeral home. Pastor Todd Hessel of the Mulford Evangelica Free Church will officiate. Homer was born on February 17, 1936 in Muscatine, the son of Denver and Lela Saltz Snyder. He was in the US Air Force stationed at SculthorpeAir Force Base in England, where he met Janet K. Kemp in 1956. They were united in marriage on July 27, 1957 in England. He started working as a firefighter. He then joined the US Postal Service and was a letter carrier retiring after 37 years. Following his retirement he worked parttime for Muscatine Transporation Inc. and NAPA. He was a member of the Mulford Evangelical Free Church, and the VFW Post 1565. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching hi grandkids play ball and spending time with hisgrandchildren. He enjoyed people and was very much a people person. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Janet K. Synder f Muscatine, two sons, Dr Paul William Synder nd wife Erica of West Lafayette Indiana. and Jeffrey Snyder and wife Tonita of Bettendorf, one daughter, Tammy Synder Knudsen and husband Jim of Elgin Il. seven grandchildren, Marisa, Raelyn, Jordan, Eleanor, Dakota, Emma and Hunter. one brother, Dennis Synder ad wife Georgia of Muscatine, one sister, Betty Hyink and husband Royce of Muscatine, one sister in law, Pat Hill and husband Peter of England. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ernest Ross and one sister in law, Florence.
