Description	:	Homert H. Hins, age 89, of Huron, and formerly of Wessington Springs, died Sunday, November 20, 2005, at the Huron Nursing Home. Homert Harrison Hins was born on March 14, 1916, to Solomon and Bertha (Tiede) Hins. He grew up on the family farm in Bates Township, Hand County. He attended rural school. Hins, age 89, of Huron, and formerly of Wessington Springs, died Sunday, November 20, 2005, at the Huron Nursing Home. Homert Harrison Hins was born on March 14, 1916, to Solomon and Bertha (Tiede) Hins. He grew up on the family farm in Bates Township, Hand County. He attended rural school. On June 11, 1939, Homert married Viola Fischer at the Rosehill Presbyterian Church in rural Hand County. They farmed for 43 years on the family farm before retiring to Wessington Springs where they lived for 23 years. Through his life he was an active member in his church the Rosehill Presbyterian Church. He also was active on the Bates township board, Masonic Lodge #87, James Valley Shrine Club and Fire Crew, Jerauld County Farmers Union and Farm Bureau, and Wessington Springs Country Club. He was survived by his wife Viola of Huron; 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Plate of Huron; and 1 step sister, Eloa Kroeker of Placerville, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Ida; 5 stepbrothers, Herbert, Earl, Quinton, Garfield, and Elvin "Cal" Winter; and 1 brother-in-law, Wallace Plate. His funeral service will be Wednesday, November 23, at the First Presbyterian Church in Huron with Rev. Kevin Channell and Rev. Allen Sager officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements by Welter Funeral Home.
