Description	:	Hope L. Wiese, 89 formerly of Rhodes, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at State Center Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A visitation for Hope will be 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, May 11, 2009 at Pursel Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown. There will be a private interment at a later date. Wiese, 89 formerly of Rhodes, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at State Center Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Hope was born in Oxford Junction, Iowa and raised in Eden Township. On July 28, 1940, she was united in marriage to Ferdinand Wiese in Marshalltown. She and her husband farmed in the Rhodes area from the time they were married until he died in 1996. Hope enjoyed cooking and was known for her fine pie making. She loved to play the piano and keyboard and performed with the Remnants Band, who played at many local places in central Iowa. Hope and Ferdinand enjoyed ballroom dancing, where they belonged to a club in the Marshalltown area for several years. Hope will be missed by 3 sons, John P. and William H. Wiese of Rhodes, James M. (Pat) Wiese of Greenfield, 3 grandchildren, Merry, Amber, and Matthew; and one brother, Jack ( Mary Ellen) Gray of Rhodes. Hope was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Ferdinand.
