Mr. Martin was a 1954 graduate of Conway High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as an Aerospace electrician with Lockhead and Chrysler Corporation, where he retired. Read More	Conway… Horace Pittman Martin, age 84, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021. Born May 13, 1936 in Conway, he was the son of the late Harmon Pittman and Carrie Bell Jordan Martin. Mr. Martin was a 1954 graduate of Conway High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as an Aerospace electrician with Lockhead and Chrysler Corporation, where he retired. He was an avid genealogist and enjoyed keeping meticulous records of family and friends from Horry County. Mr. Martin had a passion for gardening and landscaping and was known through the community for his beautiful yard and flowers. He was known to frequent local restaurants and ate most of his meals out. He enjoyed being out each day and seeing longtime friends and family members in the community. Along with his parents, Mr. Martin is predeceased by a brother, Henry Buck Martin, Sr. of Columbia, SC; and two sisters, Barbara Ann Hendrick of Conway, SC and Johnnie Rose Holcomb of Whiteville, NC. Mr. Martin is survived by his daughter, Lisa Vaughan (Lee) of Carrollton, TX; a grandson, Alex Vaughan of Plano, TX; a granddaughter, Hayley Vaughan of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Frances "Frankie" Evans of Sumter, SC and Linda Hitt (Cal) of Valrico, FL; a brother, Lenneau Martin of Conway, SC; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and other extended family. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held in the summer months of this year. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
